Martinez Auto Body has been part of the downtown Martinez community since its inception in 1952 when it was established at 412 Ward Street. The present owner, Gary Hernandez became an employee in 1975 and purchased the business later that same year when the previous owner retired.
Growth under Gary’s leadership caused the need for more space so the business was moved to 635 Escobar Street in 1981, 701 Escobar Street in 1986, and in 1996 moved to their permanent location at 615 Alhambra Avenue (corner of Alhambra Avenue and Escobar Streets).
“We strive to keep our prices competitive. Nevertheless, we believe that our continued success and growth depends primarily on quality. Our prices reflect quality materials and quality workmanship by trained technicians. Our customers know that and depend on that.” – Gary Hernandez
I-CAR, short for Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair, is a national organization the sole purpose of which is to insure that technicians in the auto repair industry have the necessary knowledge and skill to repair an automobile to its pre-accident fit and form. All our technicians are I-Car trained.
Our technicians are also ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certified. This certification requires successful completion of a series of rigorous tests designed to test a technician’s knowledge and experience with respect to various aspects of collision repair.
Gary is ASA (Automotive Service Association) Certified Master Tech.
